Pr. Stephanie has a passion for collaborating and working with others to create something – something useful, something beautiful, something meaningful. She is committed to connecting the people of God to the God who loves them, to each other as siblings in Christ, and to our community as partners in this time and place. As a creative person, she makes music, writes, tries new things, and thinks outside the box.
Rev. Stephanie Pope was ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament (a pastor) on August 25, 2007 in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Having completed her studies at Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, she was called to serve her first parish St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Hicksville, NY, a small parish on busy Long Island. From there, she went to St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Bristol, CT a larger suburban parish outside Hartford. Now the Holy Spirit has called her to serve Community Lutheran in Enfield.
Before she was ordained, Pr. Stephanie worked as a Director of Youth and Christian Education for ten years. She graduated from Northwestern University BMus91, studying opera and arts administration, and worked briefly in the non-profit arts world of Chicago.
